Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
Last June, Stater Bros. Charities partnered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to raise funds at each checkstand. Customers could participate by purchasing a $1 or $5 paper lantern mobile at the register. Customers were welcome to write their name or the name of a loved one on the lantern, which was displayed inside the store.
In addition to this campaign, Stater Bros. Charities partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at their annual “Light The Night” Walk at Angel Stadium which was held on Saturday, September 28th. This walk honored those who have been affected by blood cancer, those who walked in memory of someone who has lost their battle with blood cancer and those who have had a family member or friend who is currently battling the disease.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. Their mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, while improving the quality of life for patients and their families. Since 2008, this Stater Bros. campaign has raised over $2 million.
All funds raised were used to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma’s Patient Services programs in Southern California. Patient services include financial aid, support groups, first connection programs and countless others. To learn more, visit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's website
