This year, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends everyone over six months of age receive a vaccination. According to the CDC, a flu shot can reduce the chance of contracting the Influenza virus by up to 70%. The 2011-2012 Influenza vaccine offers protection against the current strains of flu, including Influenza A (H1N1).
Beginning this September, Stater Bros. Super Rx Pharmacy's own Certified Immunizing Pharmacists will administer flu vaccinations for $19.99 per vaccine in our 27 in-store pharmacies*.
The best time to get your flu shot is early in the season, before the height of the annual flu season. The flu vaccine is especially recommended for persons at higher risk of complications from influenza, including adults age 50 and over, adults with health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, lung disease, and other chronic illnesses, children 2 years and under, and care providers.
