Stater Bros. Super Rx Pharmacies are here to help customers stay healthy with easy and affordable vaccinations.
This year, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends everyone over six months of age receive a vaccination. According to the CDC, a flu shot can reduce the chance of contracting the influenza virus by up to 70%. The 2014-2015 influenza vaccine offers protection against the current strains of flu, including influenza A (H1N1).
Our certified immunizing pharmacists can administer flu vaccinations for $25 per vaccine in all of our in-store pharmacies.*
The best time to get your flu shot is early in the season, before the height of the annual flu season. The flu vaccine is especially recommended for persons at higher risk of complications from influenza, including adults age 50 and over, adults with health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, lung disease, and other chronic illnesses, children 2 years and under, and care providers.
To help prevent the spread of pertussis (whooping cough) infection in infants, adults (19 years of age and older) should be vaccinated with the Tdap vaccine and receive a booster every 10 years from then on. Consult one of our pharmacists for more information.
California State Law requires 7th-12th grade children receive a Whooping Cough (Tdap) shot before starting school. See pharmacist for details.
Shingles is a potentially severe disease, caused by the reactivation of the chicken pox virus. Complications can include vision and hearing problems, neuromuscular disease, and long term pain. As you get older, the virus can reactivate, causing a blistering rash and pain. In the U.S. we have approved the vaccine Zostavax for adults aged 50 and older. Ask your pharmacist if the vaccine is covered by your insurance.
