JOB SUMMARY:
To prepare, package, and display Fresh Cut Produce foods for customer purchase and consumption.
FUNDAMENTAL JOB TASKS:
- Prepare Fresh Cut Produce food items for display
- Package, label, and price products
- Place point of sale signs, tags, stickers as needed
- Stock and display merchandise for sale to customers
- Assist customers with their questions
- Operate department equipment in safe, efficient manner
- Maintain merchandise in cases and shelves for orderly display and rotation
- Clean department fixtures and equipment
- Follow all cleaning and sanitation guidelines
- Maintain responsible inventory in storage area
- Order replacement merchandise and supplies as needed
- Maintain logs and records of damaged and lost merchandise
- Complete routine price changes
- Follow all safety rules and regulations
- Maintain proper safe temperatures on all items
- Assist Produce Manager with monthly inventory
- Other related duties as required
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to read recipes, invoices, labels, signs to adequately prepare, package label and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
- Must be able to operate a computerized scale, communicate with customers and perform basic math calculations.
- Must maintain a sense of integrity.
- High school diploma is preferred but not required.
Hourly Pay Range: $15.70 – 20.05 This position is covered under the UFCW union agreement
