Meat Clerk


Assisting customers with purchases in the meat department, offering preparation and serving suggestions, maintaining stock level in display cases, and processing of meat department products, clean-up and safety and sanitation of equipment and department.


  • Assist the customer with purchases of products and with other services such as slicing, grinding, repackaging, serving suggestions, cooking procedures, etc.
  • Responsible for wrapping, scaling, trimming, pricing and price changes of all meat department products according to company procedures and policies including customer protection laws and applicable weights and measures regulations
  • Maintains the proper supply of products in the cases and packaged deli through proper rotation and display of product per company standards and schematics
  • Responsible for cleanup of wrapping, scaling, and production equipment according to proper cleaning and sanitation procedures
  • Responsible for maintaining acceptable levels of product preparation, storage, and identification knowledge
  • Orders products and supplies, inventories products and supplies as assigned
  • Other related duties as required


  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma is preferred but not required
  • Ability to read equipment manuals, shelf tags and prices, and labels
  • Must possess efficient hand-eye coordination and be able to perform basic math calculations
  • Ability to use good judgment in dealing with customers and co-workers
  • Must maintain a sense of integrity
  • Valid Health Card

Hourly Pay Range: $15.70 – $20.05 This position is covered under the UFCW union agreement
