Security – Loss Prevention Investigator

JOB SUMMARY:

Protecting of Company property against theft. Detection, apprehension, detention and/or arrest of shoplifters. Internal investigations and investigations of crimes against the Company.

FUNDAMENTAL JOB TASKS:

  • Detect and apprehend shoplifters.
  • Conduct internal theft, ORC and Corporate investigations.
  • Prepare thorough and concise investigative reports.
  • Effectively present information to Management, Law Enforcement and Prosecuting Agencies.
  • Provide testimony and evidence at Criminal and Civil proceedings.
  • Problem solving and decision making recur on a daily basis;
  • Highly confidential material is handled routinely
  • Perform other duties as assigned (Ex. – Corporate / Company events).
  • Required to travel to ALL Stater Bros stores in all counties;

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be 21 years of age;
  • High school diploma or equivalent; College and or Certificate preferred.
  • Minimum- 3 years Loss Prevention/Asset Protection in Multi-Store environment
  • Efficiency in computer skills; Microsoft Office – Word and Excel
  • Use of POS exception-based reporting software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Criminal Laws and particularly of PC490.5, 459.5, 484/488, 487 & 503 & 211
  • Wicklander-Zulawski interview experience is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Use of good judgment and de-escalation techniques in the apprehension, detention and/or arrest of suspects.
  • Ability to work non-traditional work hours will be required (graveyard, swing / day shifts, weekends and holidays)
  • Required to travel to ALL Stater Bros stores in all counties;
  • Ability to deal effectively and professionally with all levels of individuals doing business from within and outside the Company;
  • Ability to represent the Company in a Professional manner;
  • High degree of confidentiality, integrity, accuracy and problem solving required.

REQUIRED LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATION:

  • PC832 Certificate (level 3-2-or 1) required or BA in Criminal Justice
  • Current First Aid, CPR Certificate and AED Certificate required
  • Valid California Driver’s License with good driving record.
