SAN BERNARDINO, CALIFORNIA (November 1, 2021) –Throughout November and December, all Stater Bros. Markets locations will participate in their annual “Harvesting Hope in our Community” campaign. The annual campaign addresses food insecurity by raising funds at the check stands to help fill the food banks with fresh and healthy food. To join the fight against hunger, customers and employees can donate at any check stand by donating loose change in the coin canisters, adding a $5 donation card during checkout, or scanning the QR code. Donations are also being accepted online or by simply texting STATER to 41444.
With the holidays and new year in sight, most of us look forward to sitting down for a warm meal with family and friends. Sadly, the ripple effects of the pandemic have many families facing countless situations that can result in food insecurity and hunger. According to Feeding America, there are nearly 2.3 million food-insecure people in Southern California alone. That’s why Stater Bros. Markets and Stater Bros. Charities are stepping in and harvesting hope in the communities we proudly serve.
“Stater Bros. is committed to strengthening our local communities by investing in local hunger relief organizations and programs. Many families are struggling to meet basic needs, and these funds can be the difference between choosing to buy food or pay bills,” said Nancy Negrette, Chairman and President, Stater Bros. Funds raised throughout the campaign will benefit regional food banks and advance hunger relief efforts at local food pantries, community kitchens, emergency shelters, etc. Giving the gift of hope this holiday season ensures our marginalized communities have equitable access to fresh and nutritious food today and beyond. Every dollar counts and giving a little can make a huge difference for those facing hunger. A $5 donation will provide up to 45 meals.
