Information Gathered by Technology

When you access the Sites or open an email we send you, Stater Bros. may use technology to better understand who is using the Sites and how they are using them. This technology (including web beacons, cookies, IP addresses, unique device IDs, user IDs and log files) automatically collects non-personally identifiable information, makes a record of your visit to the Sites and logs your visit for statistical and business purposes. This non-personally identifiable information may include, without limitation, your server address, domain name, IP address, the date and time of your visit, pages accessed, documents or coupons downloaded, previous sites visited, the type of browser used and other “traffic data” (“Traffic Data”).

In order for you to access certain services or pages that we offer via the Sites, we may require you to provide us with certain information that personally identifies you (“Personal Information”). For example, Stater Bros. may collect certain Personal Information regarding users through the Sites’ registration processes. Personal Information includes, without limitation, the following categories of information: (1) contact data, such as your name, address, email address and phone number; (2) demographic data, such as your zip code, age, gender, interests, business and organization affiliation; (3) data collected to verify your identity, such as security question information; and (4) other categories of information. Registration is always optional. However, failure to provide certain Personal Information may prevent you from accessing certain services offered on the Sites.

We may link Traffic Data to the Personal Information you submit while on the Sites, when you are logged into the Sites, or in connection with a service you have requested. For example, if you sign-up for Digital Deals, we will store your Digital ID together with your email address so that you can manage your account.

Most browsers are initially set-up to accept cookies. If you do not wish information to be gathered on a cookie, it may be possible to disable the acceptance of cookies by changing the settings on your web browser. However, disabling cookies may impair your access to and ability to utilize certain features on the Sites. If you are not sure whether your browser has the capability to opt out of receiving cookies, you should check with the software manufacturer or your internet service provider. The Sites also use web beacons (also known as clear gifs or pixel tags), which are tiny graphics with a unique identifier that are placed in the code of a webpage.
